Hans-Peter Profunser
Against the current
When comparing Pier Paolo Pasolini’s fight against fascism, the church, environmental destruction, and capitalism with the situation today, it is clear that there has been no turn for the better.
For this reason, war, environmental destruction, political and social brutalization, egoism, and our tendency toward self-destruction are the themes of Hans-Peter Profunser’s (*1956) sculptures. His preferred materials are marble and old, rusty iron.
In his process, parts are cut out, shaped by hand through hammering, deformed, and then welded back together.
